About IBDE
IBDE is a London-based not-for-profit membership organisation providing leadership in promoting international trade and investment flows (including financial and professional services, energy, aerospace and defence, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, technology, innovation, and telecommunication industries), as well as championing commercial and economic diplomacy. Bridging the gap between business and governments is the game changer for business people and diplomats today, and this is the focus of IBDE. In 2019, IBDE won the first award presented to an organisation for its outstanding contribution to "economic diplomacy". The award was voted for by the international diplomatic community.
IBDE aims to consider the risks to business, including political risks, and the political aspects of business risk to help inform international trade and investment policy and decision-making. With business leaders, civil servants and diplomats informing, steering and shaping IBDE agenda through our advisory groups, and with a diverse input from our members, IBDE activities provide a unique environment in which to explore policy issues relevant to governments and international business as we seek solutions to global challenges through enhanced public-private cooperation.
